projects
intro
This is my current project list. At the moment, it's heavily skewed towards potential and upcoming attractions, with a high probability of abandonment and cancellation. As projects progress, updates will be provided.
completed projects
None at the moment. Our journey has just begun!
in progress
Actively being worked on with tangible results:
- Remodel of website: while it may be self-referential, the first step towards organizing my projects is to create a way to organize them. Besides, I want to have something to fall back on should I decide to go full anti-social media
- Hearth: a multi-site networking project with the goal of maximizing self-sufficiency through self-hosted services, including ones not readily available from third-parties
on deck
Upcoming project still in the conceptual stage:
- HP 95LX mail client: still on the drawing board, a project to allow a DOS-based HP 95LX to asynchronously receive and send email, similar in concept to the old Palm desktop suite.
- Requirement: understanding the target device. The NEC V20 is object compatible with the Intel 8088, so using 8088 assembly remains a viable option. I will need to learn how to write assembly first, though :D
- On the other end of the cable, the modern device will need to be able to communicate with the 95LX without overwhelming it. While not required initially, it would be good to make a desktop client compatible with multiple operating systems
- Productivity bridge: my contacts and calendar are very important to my remaining functional. It would be great if I could seamlessly keep this data current between all my devices, from my iPhone to my Palm IIIxe
- Requirement: there are subtle but key differences in the way all these devices store information. Ensuring that each device is on the same page will take some doing.
- For offline devices like the Palm IIIxe and the HP 95LX, ensuring synchronization is even more important. A lot can happen in a week.
